Just in case anyone wondered if I had died or not, I have not. And to keep with the trend of only updating when life-changing events occur in my life here is an update, broken down into categories.
SCHOOL: I applied for a transfer to Guelph because U of T had broken my spirit (this is old news). Luckily, I didn't get in. I realised that microbiology isn't what I want to do at all. All I really want to do is work in a lab, preferably in a hospital. I know, it is no epidemiological fantasy anymore, more of a common sense job-for-the-future type of reality. Since that made no sense at all I basically want to take an undergraduate which will be worth my time. Kris and I have discussed how overrated undergraduate degrees are. They are. I don't know about everywhere else but here you can get into med school with an Art History undergraduate so long as your marks are good enough. Well, more or less.
But anyway, I applied to the University of Ontaria to take Medical Lab Science and surprise, I got in. The university's only three years old and my dad pointed out that it can't be very prestigious if they accepted me after applying five months late but it's a really nice, new, and high tech university and I'm excited to be going.
WORK: I am in New Hampshire doing "landscaping." OK, if you know me in real life or maybe just on here you should probably know that this is sort of weird. I am sort of girly and week and also more of an indoor person than an outdoor person and I don't like getting paid for physical labour. However, the boss is my godfather and I get paid $14 an hour american to water flowers and weed flower beds. I am done by noon everyday and the other men take care of me. If I water, they unroll and roll the hose. If I weed and the bag gets to heavy, they carry the bag for me. Etc. Everything is good in this category.
MY SO-CALLED LOVE LIFE: no need to discuss anything in detail here but there is potential for something really good to happen as soon as I get back into Canada. Because it could have been predicted and was sort of obvious, I will just say that a certain boy named Jason is involved.
RECREATION: today (on my one day off) I went shopping at various department stores to find a bathing suit. I have realised that department stores are the new movie theatres: movie theatres are slowly becoming a thing of the past. My two bathing suit pieces were 60% off with another 20% off of the top because there were two threads hanging off of it. I bought a $68 bathing suit for $19. It was glorious.
I also bought these Converse one-stars for $25. And there is no tax because it is New Hampshire (no tax at all!).
On Monday I am going to the beach with my friend from grades 1-3. Hence the need for a new bathing suit. She has a huge house on the beach and I generally love it there.
CONCLUSION: everything is finally working out.
ps: I forgot that I went to see JKS and Christine Fellows. I will eventually post some of my awesome black and white pictures from that.
