I'm in the search for a new template. I am sorry Johnny K but you have got to go.
So, Saturday night was Josh Ritter/Jill Barber at the Rivoli. I thought that I hated the Rivoli but in fact, I do not. I've taken a liking to it's beaten down wood floors and long hallway beside the stage with it's yellow light that says washroom. I didn't really know a whole lot about Josh Ritter except that he is related to the Frames/Mark Geary and therefore Kris loves him and forced me to listen to his songs and go to the show with her. Other than the fact that he is REALLY good live and really charming in person, all I can say is that, when you listen to his songs, it's like you've always known them.
See Kris's entry for pictures: click.
(For some reason, it is impossible to link to the entry, but there a few other pictures up now. Ooh, Converse. I would just like to point out how mine are the dirtiest, and therefore, I am the coolest.)
He sang his song about talking to his mother on the phone about love and science: "love doesn't make the flowers grow, it's a chemical reaction inside plant cells involving chloroplasts and it's called photosynthesis." There were other verses involving the change of the tides and the way stars shine. I told him I was a (sort of) science major and he called me his lovely scinetista. Oh swoon. He also wrapped his leg around me when we were taking a picture and nothing good happened to Kris even though she is the one who loves him. Oh well.
My human bio teacher decided that our genetics assignment would not be due until after reading week. Which means instead of finishing it for Monday, I hand it in in two weeks. This is extremely nice for me and my schedule since
a) the last one took me two and a half days straight to finish even though they're only worth 3% each
b) I have a third year midterm and eight page paper due next week
c) I get to do frivolous things like updating my diary finally and watching, in order, The OC, one hour of Garden State with the Zach Braff/director of photography commentary, ER. It's not that I am in love with my tv, I just need to rest before I undertake my weekend of hardcore studying/paper writing.
Wow, I am so happy.
